A heartfelt thank you!

I have so much to be thankful for and today’s an appropriate day to tell you why.

A few years ago, I wrote BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS and sent it out to agents hoping to secure one with this story. Some agents provided wonderful feedback and eventually I secured an agent with it. BKoD went out to some NY publishing imprints, and while they had nice things to say, they passed on the story. Eventually my agent suggested that I shelve it and work on another proposal. Sure I could’ve worked on something new, but I just couldn’t let BKoD go. In my heart I KNEW it had potential and with the Indie market growing I decided to take a chance and publish it. I’ve never talked in detail about BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS’ publishing history before, but I thought you all might like to know how you all have turned a NO into a YES in so many ways!

In publishing, word of mouth is hands down the best marketing an author could hope for, so THANK YOU for telling your friends about BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS! Thank you for posting reviews on Amazon/B&N/Goodreads! Your reviews help others browsing for a new series to read decide to give Ethan and Nara’s story a try. Thank you for participating in cover reveals and posting the countdown widgets on your blogs/websites. YOU are proving that BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS is a series worth reading. You are showing that it has an audience. THANK YOU, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!

ETHAN and DESTINY’s books are coming…and in the upcoming months I’ll be working on more exciting things.

Love and hugs to you all!

Thank you for sharing this story. I am so happy that you decided to self publish BKoD. It’s an amazing book and I highly recommend it to everyone that will listen. Lucid was great too and I can’t wait for the next book. 🙂 I am very invested in the characters and their story.

I am definitely both yours, and BKoD’s, newest fan! I am an avid reader (like 2 books a week, at least!) and it’s been a long, long while since I became completely invested in a book. This is actually the very first book I have ever felt compelled to write a comment on. THAT’S how strongly I feel about this series so far. The depth of love and passion, all without being blatantly sexual, is beautiful. I am in love with Ethan…his darkness, his light, his love for Nara. He is breathtaking. As insane as it sounds, I tear up just thinking of what he goes through for love. How I am going to make it until March to read Destiny, I have no idea! Shame on all the publishers who couldn’t or wouldn’t recognize the amazing story that is Nara and Ethan, and THANK YOU for taking the risk and publishing it anyway! I am in awe of you and this beautiful story. 🙂

Aw, thank you, Nikki. It’s comments like yours that make me feel like I did the right thing in trusting my gut about BKoD. 🙂 By the way, there will also be a prequel novella to BKoD released called ETHAN. It will be written in his point of view up until the point Nara tells him about the bomb threat. ETHAN will be released prior to DESTINY. I’ll post the release date once I set it. I hope you enjoy the rest of the BKoD books just as much. 🙂
